Amaya – 8 months

Since Amaya’s 9 month photo shoot is coming up, I figured I would post her 8 month photo in preparation for it. Some of her milestones this month have been waving, clapping, her second tooth finally broke through and she finished her first separation anxiety phase and loves being held by everyone now. She’s also making some of her first attempts at signing back to use. So far we think she’s tried to sign more and milk.

I’ll be taking photos of Amaya sitting in our dining room chair that used to belong to my grandparents until she’s two years old.

Amaya – 7 Month Portrait

I’m a little behind posting Amaya’s 7 month photo. She’s been sitting up on her own for a little while and this was the first shot where I felt much more comfortable with her sitting on the chair. Arielle was still just out of the frame, but for the most part she wasn’t needed more than to help position Amaya.

It’s been a real joy putting together her monthly photo posts. When I’m pulling previous month’s photos, I keep thinking, “She’s gotten so big!” I love it. I’m loving every stage of her development and cherishing each day we have together.

Dan + Emily Engagement Session

Recently, I met up with Dan + Emily at Herritage Square for their engagement shoot. Since Dan + Emily are getting married at the Renaissance Hotel next month, they liked the idea of an urban engagement session. There were a lot of laughs and some general sillyiness. I’m really look forward to their wedding.

Ashley’s Graduation Shoot

Our cousin Ashley is graduating from ASU in just over a month. It seems like it wasn’t that long ago we went to her High School graduation party. We went over to ASU on a sunday afternoon for her photo shoot.

Wolfpack Family aka March Madness

Last weekend, Arielle, Amaya and I dressed up in our NC State gear to watch NC State hold on to beat Georgetown. It was an exciting game and great to see State get to the Sweet 16 for the first time in 7 years and only the second time since 1986. Tonight the family will be be glued to the TV in what will most likely be a State loss. State is great at getting its fans’ hopes up only to underperform. If we win, it will be amazing especially with the possibility of facing UNC-CH in the Elite 8. If we lose it will be kind of expected but great to see how Mark Gottfried has turned around the program in such a short time.

And we know we are the best.
A hand behind our back,
We can take on all the rest.
Come over the hill, Carolina.
Devils and Deacs stand in line.
